The Skimz HS1 and HS2 are new medium sized protein skimmers using Hydor’s efficient little bubble producer, the Aero pump. At first glance the Skimz HS1 appears to be an acrylic tribute to Hydor’s Slim Skim Mini with a similar cylindrical reaction tube inside of a square chamber. The Skimz HS2 is basically the HS1 fitted inside a hang-on assembly that takes the protein removing business outside of the tank. Tentative pricing for the HS1 is about 165SGD and 215SGD for the HS2 but who knows how closely the U.S. Pricing will shake down once distribution and importing costs are factored in.
